a normal MC-week
key points in MC
Discipleship+
First of all we are a discipleship training school. We want to let Christ grow in us. This does not only concern our hearts, because Jesus has instructed us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. We want to follow him holistically in every area of our lives.
BIBLE
We read through the Bible in 10 months. We go through the history of Scripture and learn verses by heart.
GUEST SPEAKERS
We have over 20 different speakers, some regularly every week and some for an intensive week on a specific topic.
BOOKS
We read great books on specific topics and adapt their complexity individually to each student.
TIME & MONEY MANAGEMENT
We invest in our management of money and time. Each student has a staff member for support in these areas.
STAYING FIT
We want to stay healthy and deal responsibly with the gift of the body that we have received.
COACHING
We take this very seriously and want to help the students on their way with God. The leadership always takes time for individual discussions and coaching. We also have a wide network of qualified people for any kind of pastoral care.
Worship+
Worship creates space for communion with God. In this facing of God we experience release to be who we truly are. The unconditional YES of our Creator enables us to fully blossom in our given potential. In order to orient ourselves to that which is outside of space and time, we begin and end our days with prayer and worship.
CHARISMATIC & LITURGICAL
We love contemporary worship songs and love to sing them with life and passion. We also love the older ways of worship and like to profit from these sources as well. We pray that both are filled with life and led by the Spirit. We practice both in our church and in MC.
MUSICAL WORSHIP
2-3 times a week we have young worship leaders from our church to lead us into worship.
PRAYER
From time to time we pray with the oldest prayer book, the Psalms, and put our suffering, our joys and everything else into this prayer.
TAIZÉ
Every two weeks we sing short repetitive songs only with our voices. All kinds of voices are welcome and somehow integrated.
Community+
CLASS COMMUNITY
It is very important for us to be an edifying, encouraging, correcting and reforming community. As Bonhoeffer says about Christian community: "The privilege of living among other Christians is not something that can be taken for granted... It is quickly forgotten that fellowship with brothers in Christ is a gift of grace, a gift of the Kingdom of God and that it can be taken away from us..." By living fellowship, we want to build His Kingdom.
HOST FAMILIES
Another central part of student life is living with host families. We are very grateful for the families in our community who open their doors & hearts and create a home atmosphere for each student.
ONE GOD, ONE CHURCH
We want to build bridges, not walls. We see our brothers and sisters in Christ as family and we are convinced that together we represent the church.
SERVICE & Mission+
SOCIAL OUTREACH
Every other week we give away half a day of our time to support various institutions in the city and the surrounding area. He who receives much can give much.
EVANGELIZATION
he news is good. Too good not to share it! We want to have a lifestyle of openness and heart sharing. As a church we offer basic faith courses.
SERVING THE CHURCH
We love what Christ loves. We want to serve the whole church, but we also want to serve the local church with prayer and practical work.
EUROPE TOUR
In spring and summer we go on tour for a total of 7 weeks in Germany, Italy, Austria, Romania, Poland and other places.
Living in host families
During this time, the students' host families become their home. Living in host families offers an environment for personal development and provides a very personal insight into our community: from coping with the household together, to the culture of conversation and prayer, to education.
It is our hope that students will draw inspiration for their own path in life and become an encouragement for the host family during this time as well.
